"Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)" is a central government scheme launched in India to provide financial support to small and marginal farmers. The main objective of the scheme is to provide income support to farmers in order to support them in meeting their expenses for agriculture and allied activities.

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers are provided with a financial benefit of Rs. 6000 per year, which is given in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 each. The scheme is open to all small and marginal farmers across the country, regardless of the crop they grow or the size of their landholdings.

The PM-KISAN scheme was launched in 2019 and is being implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Government of India. The scheme is being implemented through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode and the financial benefit is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the eligible farmers.

The scheme is aimed at providing financial stability to farmers and helping them to meet their expenses for agriculture and allied activities, thereby improving their standard of living and contributing to the overall development of the agriculture sector in India.
