The Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) is a life insurance scheme launched by the Government of India. The scheme aims to provide affordable life insurance coverage to people across the country, particularly those who are economically weaker and do not have access to life insurance facilities.

Under PMJJBY, an individual between the age of 18 and 50 years can enroll in the scheme by paying an annual premium of just Rupees 330. Upon enrolling, the individual is eligible for a life insurance coverage of Rupees 2 lakhs in case of his/her untimely death due to any reason.

The scheme is renewable annually and the coverage continues till the age of 55 years. The premium for PMJJBY is automatically debited from the account of the enrolled individual. The enrollment can be done through various channels such as the bank branch, bank's internet banking facility, mobile banking, and other electronic modes.
